Although capacity limits and proof of vaccination requirements have been lifted, we know that our students and parents are still concerned about their health and safety when coming in to the school.

Throughout the pandemic, that has been our primary concern as well.  We are excited to finally have students returning, and to hear the sound of music around the school, but we are taking a cautious approach to re-opening:

As per government guidelines, masking requirements are still in effect, and we expect to keep that policy until the end of the semester.

  • We will be maintaining our reduced class sizes in order the ensure social distancing at all times.
  • Air purifiers with HEPA filters will be used in all classrooms at all times, and the air in the school is refreshed at the end of every day.
  • All instruments and teaching aids are disinfected after every use.
  • Government guidelines still require that we carry out passive screening of anyone entering the school. The list of symptoms to watch for is posted in the lobby.  Answering “yes” to any of these listed symptoms, or to the questions that follow, requires a student and their family members to switch to remote learning:
        • fever and/or chills
        • cough or barking cough
        • shortness of breath
        • decrease in sense of taste or smell
        • muscle aches or joint pain
        • extreme tiredness
        • sore throat
        • runny or stuffy/congested nose
        • headache
        • nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea
      • in the last 14 days have you travelled outside of Canada and been told to quarantine?
      • has a doctor, health provider or public health unit told you that you should currently be isolating?
      • in the last 14 days have you tested positive for Covid-19?
      • do any of the following apply?
        • you live with someone who is currently isolating because of a positive Covid-19 test
        • you live with someone who is currently isolating because of Covid-19 symptoms
        • you live with someone who is currently waiting for Covid-19 test results
  • Although the government has reduced the isolation time to 5 days in order to help re-start the economy, we still require that anyone having come into contact with someone who tests positive for Covid-19, remain virtual for the full 14 days irrespective of their vaccination status or their own test results.

We would like to thank everyone for the continued support of our school, and for helping to keep everyone safe by following these guidelines.
